Bekal, Ananthapuram, Kasaragod, Kerala

Another weekend, another trip. Bekal is 15 kms from Kasargod which is 54 kms from Mangalore. You will never notice when you have crossed the Karnataka border & entered into Kerala border. Bekal fort is open all day from 8 am to 5:30 pm. Don’t know what is the point in having the Sunset point when sun set is never viewed from this place. There is a tourist information center from where one can get the details on the fort. Plan a vist during any time of the year apart from Summer. One can enjoy the fort within 2-3 hours.

Ananthapuram is 5 kms from Kumbla a small town on the highway from Mangalore to Kasaragod. This is the only lake temple in Kerala which is guarded by a vegetarian Crocodile. Had a glimpse of the crocodile but couldn’t able to click any pictures of it.
